Q: Are immunizations required?
A: WA State law (WAC 246-100-197) requires all dogs to be vaccinated against rabies by four months of age. I require proof of rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough), and DHPP (distemper/parvo) vaccines.
Q: What types of animals do you care for?
A: I have a lifetime of experience with everything from dogs and cats to exotics like parrots, sugar gliders, snakes, and fish.
Q: Are you able to administer medication?
A: Yes. I am experienced in administering oral medications, topical treatments, and following strict dietary schedules. Please provide detailed instructions during our initial meet-and-greet.
Q: What happens if there is an emergency?
A: During our intake process, I collect your preferred veterinarian’s information and an emergency contact. If an emergency arises, I will contact you immediately while ensuring your pet receives the necessary care.
Q: What kind of "home chores" do you include?
A: Standard services include mail/package retrieval, trash/recycling to the curb, and plant watering. I am also available for larger tasks like lawn care, light house cleaning, and running errands (like grocery restocking for your return) for an additional fee.
Q: Do I need to provide supplies for cleaning or lawn care?
A: For light cleaning or specific lawn maintenance, I generally use the equipment and supplies you have on hand to ensure I’m using the products you prefer for your home. However, we can discuss specific needs during our consultation.
Q: Do you charge travel or mileage fees?
A: One of the benefits of being local to Darrington is that I do not charge hidden travel fees or mileage surcharges for clients within my immediate service area.
Q: What is a "Meet and Greet," and is it required?
A: Yes! I require a complimentary "Meet and Greet" for all new clients. This allows me to meet your pets, learn their routine, and ensure we are a perfect fit before you head out on your trip.
Q: How do you handle home security/keys?
A: Your security is my priority. Keys and entry codes are kept strictly confidential and secure. I can also rotate lights or open/close blinds during my visits to give your home a "lived-in" look while you’re away.
Q: "I have a very unique request (like fostering an animal or a specific chore). Can you help?"
A: I love a challenge! If it involves animals or home care, just ask. If I can't do it myself, I’ll do my best to point you in the direction of someone who can.
